What is Collagen?
Collagen is a structural protein that is abundant in your body. It is a strong substance that holds the body together by forming a scaffold to provide strength and structure. Collagen is so strong, in fact, that it can be tougher than steel!
When your skin gets damaged, your body produces collagen to help repair and close the wound. The body forms new collagen fibres of different texture and quality to mend the damage. Sometimes, this can look and feel different from the surrounding unaffected skin, which is how a visible scar forms.
There are many types of scars that can develop. Keloids are an example of scars that form when the body produces to much collagen when repairing a wound. They generally do not fade away on their own and require treatment to lessen their appearance. The Technology
The eC02 laser has two modes: a static mode that covers the area with a stamp pattern, and a dynamic mode that creates a moving pattern. The static mode is the first layer of the pattern, then the dynamic mode follows up by blending in the edges of the stamp pattern. The two modes work together to target a single area for a more comprehensive therapeutic effect.

Your Treatment
First, a topical gel is applied to your skin. Then, a handheld device is gently pressed against your skin. It glides over the area targeted. That's all there is to it! Discomfort is minimum. Topical anesthetic cream can be used to help you relax.
As soon as your treatment is done, you can get back to work or other daily activites. There is no downtime involved, although you may experience some redness for a couple of days afterward. You'll see your skin gradually improving over the course of the following weeks.
