Holiday Nip & Tuck? Why Not!

December 12th, 2018 by alan

The holiday season is a great time to have some “me-time”. I know, you are busy! But hear me out!

The holiday season is perfect for surgical and nonsurgical aesthetic enhancement for a couple reasons:

1. Winter clothing, like big cozy sweaters and warm pants are perfect for concealing any swelling and bruising and any necessary compression garments needed. Shawls, scarves and the general state of more layers in your clothing all aide in hiding your secret – until you are ready to reveal! They also do well for protecting your incisions.

2. The timing is right – you have a built in break, you have plenty of time to heal before the summer sun hits. Cuddle up by the fire and watch holiday movies with your family, while you recover.

3. It’s also a great time of year to score a holiday deal. Whether it be a discount or a bonus treatment – you are likely to get the most bang for your buck this holiday season!

Come in for your consult! We are located in Toronto, Whitby and Scarborough.

BII – Breast Implant Illness

November 28th, 2018 by alan

You may have heard some of the recent media coverage of Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL).  Patients are reading the stories and getting alarmed and stressed out. We understand the fear and confusion.

Dr. Kara is here as a resource to educate and help his patients and any patients out there impacted by ALCL that are looking for a new doctor.

Now, let’s set the record straight and give you some answers to your questions.

ALCL is very rare and only occurs with textured surface implants, known as Biocell. Please be assured that ALCL has never occurred with smooth implants. It is still very safe to get implants.

For existing patients, Dr. Kara works almost exclusively with smooth implants, NOT Biocell.

Remember, we are here as a resource and will see, help and advise anyone with questions or concerns.

If you believe you may have Biocell textured surface implants, please schedule a consultation with us to discuss your options and ensure your safety.

Regardless of what holiday you celebrate, this I can say for certain…. it’s going to get colder and its going to get busier! Tis the Season!

With holiday preparations, excited children, family and friends to see and holiday events to attend the next few weeks will be hectic for many. I know my calendar is booking up faster than ever.

Keep that joyous feeling as you work your way through your Holiday Checklist, by making sure you take care of yourself!

That’s right! Even when things are at their busiest you need to take time to take care of yourself. Some of the most popular self care strategies are:

If giving yourself the gift of rejuvenated skin and restored youth is important to you – now is the time to do it!

According to MasterCard, 1 in 4 purchases during the holidays will be made as self-gifts! Self care is trending!
